The article substantiates the need for widespread use of information systems as a basis for improving the efficiency of management and adjustment of development strategies of industrial enterprises in the context of the complexity of business processes. The main regularities and trends in the development of information systems, as well as the problems and limitations of their specific implementation are outlined.
