The article analyzes the causes and potential effects of integration of infotainment into the Russian broadcast journalism. Based on the analysis of the newspaper headlines of the most popular print media it is concluded that the growth of potential defamation lawsuits against the media editors is possible in the case of integration of the «entertain while informing» idea into broadcast material.
