Innovations in the diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and prevention of tuberculosis

The article describes the results of modern innovative developments of the Saint-Petersburg State Research Institute of Phthisiopulmonology. So many topical issues of phthisiology are resolved here. We highlight the issues of prevention and diagnosis of tuberculosis infection on the basis of a comprehensive assessment of risk factors and prognostic criteria for the effectiveness of treatment of a specific process of different localization, taking into account the characteristics of the macro and microorganism. One of the important researching areas is devoted to the pathophysiological aspects of optimizing the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis, taking into account comorbidity and the clinical features of a specific process. In current study the approaches to the diagnosis, treatment, prediction of outcomes and prevention of complications in surgery of extrapulmonary tuberculosis and differentiable diseases were defined. The fundamental part of scientific research in case of tuberculosis prevention and treatment is represented by preclinical studies of biomedical cell products and nanostructured materials.
