The essence of innovations is considered in the article and the main directions of transport innovations are presented. A number of key issues for introducing innovations in the field of public passenger transport are considered. The classification of innovative directions at the enterprises of public passenger transport is studied and the main directions of introducing innovations are defined. A study of the problems of the transport industry related to the imperfection of legal support. In conclusion, the rationale for the importance of marketing innovation in increasing the efficiency of urban passenger transport enterprises is given.
