The article is devoted to the consideration of the role and significance of innovation activities in the modern economy. It is determined that one of the key factors in the growth of competitiveness of the modern economy, ensuring long-term development of companies, achieving strategic goals and obtaining stable profits for the future is the growth of innovation activity. It is noted that at present the world is actively undergoing processes of radical transformation of national economies, including their technological modernization, deep structural and institutional restructuring, and Russia's integration into these processes is of strategic importance, determining the prospects for further development of the country.
