The article considers innovative architectural practice in the structure of teaching activities. It is shown how this kind of activity influences students. The authors reveal that innovative architectural practice involves research, engineering, design and experimental works on the creation of new or improved architectural output. The paper emphasizes the necessity of changes in the innovative architectural education system by using teaching potential of both experienced and young teachers of architecture.
