Innovative activities of universities as a major condition of economy modernization

According to the theses of the state program of the Russian Federation on the development of education for 2013-2020, the key factor of economic modernization is the potential integration of science, education and industry. It is the described form of interaction that provides the country with the necessary human resources and knowledge-based innovation technologies. Innovative activities of universities should be carried out in two main directions: the development of training programs for highly skilled professionals and the enhancing of research activities in the field of innovation studies. The innovation is the final result of the creative scientific activity, it is important and has marketable characteristics in the form of a product, services or technologies being sold in the market. The contemporary universities are the subjects of the first two stages of the innovative product development: the stages of idea generation and prototyping of products and technologies. According to the author, the innovative activities of higher education institutions create a fundamentally new resource - innovative knowledge, breakthroughs and future technologies.
