The paper deals with the conception of sustainable development of the Russian Federation in terms of innovation and investment in environmental management and "green" economy. It is noted that currently the active work is carried out in all three areas of sustainable development: economic, social and environmental. The authors conclude that today the economic growth is only possible if the economic interests are coordinated with the objective of minimum negative impact on the environment.
