An innovative view of the service sphere: ontological approach

The article considers the features of information ontology in relation to the tasks of the service sector modeling. The sphere of services is seen as an interdisciplinary subject area, which is in the stage of formation of its conceptual apparatus. Special attention is devoted to the application of Unified Modeling Language to create the conceptual apparatus of the service sector. The article discusses the advantages and limitations of the practical application of ontologies for the purposes of the study and development of services.
