Foreign vs national terminology: a linguo-conflictogenic challenge of modern geopolitics

Globalization processes are rapidly and significantly transforming the world language system itself, including all countries, regardless of their integration into the global economic space, as a result, the very essence of language is transformed. The authors consider the processes in the modern terminological system through the prism of aggravation and/or leveling of linguistic conflict as a new challenge of geopolitics in the cognitive war for the consciousness of recipients. The defeat of the USSR in the Cold War actualized the ethnotrauma, which was reflected in the term formation in the languages of the post-Soviet/post-socialist world. For the first time, the authors introduce such a concept as the terminological potential of a language, considering the high and low terminological potential of a language on specific examples.
