Problem statement. The article analyzes the problem of implementing foreign language interaction of students in the digital learning environment of higher education, caused by the following contradiction: insufficient development of organizational and pedagogical conditions necessary for the implementation of this process and the potential of the digital learning environment of universities to develop the skills of foreign language interaction of students. The purpose of this study is to determine the features of foreign language interaction of students in the digital learning environment of higher education. To achieve this goal, the article provides a definition, theoretical foundations of foreign language interaction of students of higher education organizations, analyzes the capabilities of the digital learning environment in this process and discusses the practical aspects of the use of digital tools developed by the author. Methodology (materials and methods). To conduct this study, methods of thematic classification and systematization of the conceptual research material were used to clarify the essence of foreign language interaction skills in a digital learning environment, as well as synthesis, systematization, and interpretation of the results obtained. Research results. As a result of the study, it was proven that foreign language interaction is a conscious process of communication between the teacher and students, which is carried out in a foreign language and contributes to the transformation of the activities of the teacher and students: it improves language communication skills, strengthens positive relationships between participants in the educational process, that further stimulates their professional development. Based on the competence-based, interdisciplinary, and integrative approaches, organizational and pedagogical conditions have been formulated that contribute to the development of students’ foreign language interaction skills in the digital learning environment, aimed at forming interaction components that allow for effective organization of communication in a foreign language within the digital learning spaces of a higher educational institution. Conclusion. The article presents a clarified definition of the essence of the concept of foreign language interaction of students in the digital learning environment of a university and suggests organizational and pedagogical conditions for the implementation of foreign language interaction in the digital learning environment of a higher education organization: 1) activation of motivational and reflexive activity of students, aimed at deepening the meanings of foreign language interaction in the learning process at the university; 2) organizing the activities of participants in the educational process to expand students’ understanding of foreign language interaction in the digital learning environment of the university; 3) enriching the experience of foreign language interaction between students in the digital learning environment (hereinafter referred to as the DLE) of the university for successful interaction in three models: teacher – DLE – student, student – DLE – teacher and learner – DLE – learner.
