Indigenous dwellers being the protectors of the extension of Russia with the Volga region (to the question of accession of Chuvashia to the Russian state)

The article examines the current questions of modern historiography. The scientific problem deals with the accession of the areas inhabited by non-Russian peoples to the Russian state territory in the XVI century. The article presents a high assessment of the scientific heritage of a prominent Russian historian V D. Dimitrieva. Taking her works into consideration this article offers to include officially (into the calendar of regional events of the Chuvash Republic) June 24 - the date of accession of the Chuvash people into Russia.
