This article is devoted to the study of internationalization strategy of the University of Ghana as well as characterization by visiting scholars of their work at the International Faculty of the University. The paper draws the boundaries between such processes as globalization and internationalization, and also defines the areas of their functioning. The authors turn their attention to the process of glocalization associated with the introduction of a local element, without which the promotion of global processes can be difficult to apply. The paper indicates the reasons for the transformations in higher education, identifies strategic goals and discusses ways to achieve these goals. The article describes the need for internationalization of universities, in general, and the University of Ghana, in particular. Further, the paper considers priority areas related to partnerships with other universities, attracting and recruiting freelance specialists from foreign countries, and creating student and teacher exchange programs. International university teachers from Africa and Europe were interviewed. The study highlights the particular interest in recruiting of international university teachers who have taught and continue to teach at various higher education institutions around the world, and therefore are highly qualified professionals with experience. Exchange with their experiences is in demand by many universities, since, while they are accumulating their own experience in a foreign institution, simultaneously they pass it on to colleagues and students. Our article further focuses on ways that can improve activities of the University of Ghana and overcome difficulties and characterizes the advantages and disadvantages of the work of the faculty with students. The paper also presents the results of a survey of respondents, where the international faculty assessed their stay and teaching at the University of Ghana. The results of the applied method of interviewing the international faculty (the object of study) will become the key to understanding the problems and solving the issues related to the internationalization of higher education in general (subject of study). The opinions of the respondents will be made available to the management of the University of Ghana. They may also influence the educational processes of other universities, since the University of Ghana is one of the leading institutions of higher education in the country and Africa, and a leader in the internationalization of education and in modern scientific approaches to teaching.
