Institutionalisation of national security in the history of Russia: external and internal threats

The appeal to the national experience providing national and territorial security in the history of the Russian state, allows not only identifying the problems of a foreign state policy, but also using the historical lessons to strengthen federal foundations of modern Russia. The article reveals the basic stages of providing national territorial security in the history of the Russian state, taking into consideration its multiethnic structure and national building.
