Institutional Transformation of the Public Power Apparatus in Armenia: Constitutional Design and Political Realities

The article examines the institutional changes in the Republic of Armenia that influenced the choice of the parliamentary model that gradually developed during the constitutional reforms of 2005 and 2015. The analysis of the functioning and interaction of the presidential and parliamentary institutions of the apparatus of public power clearly demonstrates the fact that from the 1990s up to the present, the model of power relations in Armenia has repeatedly changed from presidential to mixed, and subsequently to the classical parliamentary model with the constitutional consolidation of this form of government.
