The institute of citizenship: in view of the recent changes in legislation

The institute of citizenship is the basis of the legal status of an individual within society and state. Citizenship is associated with such legal consequences for an individual as the scope of his rights, freedoms, responsibilities, reliability of their state security and protection. The law on citizenship of the Russian Federation is developing dynamically. The main goal of all changes and amendments to the law on citizenship of the Russian Federation is to provide the opportunity for expatriates to acquire Russian citizenship. However, citizenship is an essential attribute of state sovereignty. Thus, the institute of citizenship has an essential value for development of the Russian state and is a key element for the Russian statehood strengthening and patriotism development.
