The main ways of scientific activity of the chairs in the Institute for Sustainable Development at the East-Siberian State University of Technologies and Management, their contributions to renewal of the theories and practices for sustainable development are presented in this article. The concept of sustainable development is considered as a worldview and methodological base of scientific and educational activities in the Institute.
