Integral method for calculating coefficients of a rational function model

The paper examines the problem of calculating parameters for a generalized georeferencing model based on rational functions. It identifies key requirements for calculation algorithm. The problem of approximating a given function with a rational function is stated. An integral method of solving this problem is proposed, for which an iterative numerical algorithm is provided. It discusses some special aspects of applying the proposed method to georeferencing. The proposed method was successfully used for processing data from the Earth remote sensing spacecraft EgyptSat-A. An analysis of the obtained results is presented. The proposed algorithm was compared against a reference algorithm that was based on solving the approximation problem through reduction to a linear system, in terms of referencing accuracy with respect to the strict model and calculation time. The paper draws a conclusion on the applicability and advantages of the proposed method.
