Intellectual entertainment in traditional oriental arts: a new view on the tea ceremony

The article considers a close relationship between intellectual games and amusements common for traditional oriental arts such as tea ceremony, flower and incense arrangement. Specific games of the tea ceremony are described in detail in the context of aesthetic categories and game accessories of the incense art. They are analyzed from the positions of an intimate link between the ritual and sacral behavior.
