Intelligent systems: the possibility of imposing responsibility

Бесплатный доступ

The article discusses the possibility of imposing responsibility, including criminal responsibility, on intellectual systems. It is concluded that the development of robotics as such, but especially the adaptation of law, the introduction of new legal concepts will affect the basic social concepts. The development of robotics will have an impact not only on the legal regulation of negligence, but will also change our understanding of causality, the subject of crime, and areas of responsibility. These effects are to some extent reminiscent of the effects that each new technology has had on legal regimes over the past decades. This will challenge what society thinks about negligent behavior (that is, about the principle of trust), responsibility for decisions, criminal liability of a subject other than a human being.
