The article describes some of the features of the organization of teaching grade 5 students in the study of vocabulary based on critical thinking strategies. The proposed interactive methods increase the interest of students in the studied section of the Russian language, allow not only to form knowledge and skills, but also contribute to the development of intellectual abilities of students.
