Since the appearance of Esperanto, the world has changed radically. Today's world is increasingly positioned as a network civilization, with transnational institutions gaining more and more influence in a globalizing world community of cultures. Meanwhile, linguistic differences often hinder integration processes. Language in the space of dialogue and rapprochement of peoples is the most sensitive area of intercultural communication. National languages are not inclined to yield to the world's well-known favorites (which today is English) and demand for themselves either equality, guarantees of preservation or even some benefits. Cultural resistance and the battle for national linguistic preferences are growing. A new information environment is forming, in which digital technologies are given the status of a language. Under these conditions, the role of Esperanto as a neutral language tool for international communication is not only increasing, but also facing serious challenges.
