Internet communities as a socio-political movement: on the way to overcoming human alienation?

Бесплатный доступ

The article proposes an approach to studying the relationship between the Internet and socio-political movements through the concept of alienation. In particular, in this view, all socio-political movements are considered as generated by the alienated nature of the essence of human and as aimed at removing it. Various Internet communities are also trying to struggle against the alienated nature of the implementation of the key essential forces of a person: labor, communication and consciousness, thereby constituting themselves as a kind of unified socio-political movement. Despite the fact that such an image may look very progressive the «Internet movement» as any other socio-political movements not only struggles alienation, but also generates it.
