The introduction of sandy pear in Primorsky region

The culture of the pear for Primorsky Region is not new, but now rare. In the past it was presented by three varieties: Severyanka, Tyoma and Shuranovka No. 5 that was a consequence of the fact that testing and selection had had no due development, and high-quality zoned range was extremely poor. The horticulture of Primorsky Region is a special climatic zone where only local and adapted varieties survive. Continuous selection in the course of variety renewal is necessary. The problems of the improvement of assortment can be solved by attraction in culture of a new variety for Primorsky Region - sandy pears, characterized by early maturing, disease resistance and long shelf life of the fruit and also introduction to the assortment of the region of introduced varieties from other agroclimatic regions with wide adaptive potential to abiotic and biotic stresses connected with localclimatic changes.
