Invectives as a subject of linguistic expertise of texts in insult cases

Introduction: the article deals with some topical issues of insult examination during the linguistic expertise in the cases of insult. Materials and Methods: the material for the current research was works on linguistic expertise, separate branches of linguistics, in particular lexicology, as well as materials from pre-trial linguistic research. Sociological, statistical and documentary methods were used to prepare the article, which made it possible to formulate the main conclusions. Results: the article analyzes some peculiarities of linguistic expertise in insult cases from the point of view of the linguist-expert, who carries out this kind of research, a fragment of linguistic research in insult cases is given, and further ways to improve the expert activity are outlined. Discussion and Conclusions: the author believes that a comprehensive discussion of the problems raised by linguists during the linguistic expertise in cases of insult will contribute to the community of linguists-experts to develop common criteria of assessing the fact of insult.
