Investment and innovation activity as a basis in the development of agriculture of the country

The article considers the development of agriculture in Russia. The dynamics of a number of indicators from 1990 to 2018 is analyzed. With the exception of a number of years, agriculture is developing positively. The output in physical and value terms is increasing, and efficiency in agricultural sub-sectors is growing. In crop production, grain productivity increased over the period 2000-2017. by 1.6 times, in livestock milk production increased per head of cattle almost 3 times. Export deliveries to the foreign market of agricultural products, raw materials and food are increasing. Currently, the foreign market has seen a trend towards an increase in the consumption of organic products. The study identified positive factors that can increase the role of Russia in the global market for organic products. A number of factors have also been identified that hamper the growth of agricultural production in general and organic production, in particular: low provision of agricultural producers with equipment (tractors and combines and other equipment), insufficient amount of financial resources for investment. Measures are proposed to solve these problems, in particular by attracting domestic and foreign investment.
