Investment and operational expansion strategy for national construction contractors

The paper is devoted to the problem of Russian construction companies entering the global market of investment and construction. Analysis of the ratings for top global and Russian companies demonstrates that the amount of construction activities for Russian companies is one or two orders of magnitude less than the amount of activities their international competitors perform at home and abroad. World level construction companies usually successfully perform both "athome", and, even more, abroad. Russian contractors have to quit waiting for the miracle of increase in investment attractiveness of Russian regions and industries, shift towards the ideology of expansion, and expand foreign operations. In turn, that would cause significant changes in the system of values, top management mentality, and company management concepts and routines.
