Engineering as a way to adapt business processes of agricultural enterprises to the external environment

Currently, the country’s economic system is undergoing significant changes and faces certain difficulties: geopolitical tensions, sanctions pressure, digitalization, etc. In these conditions, enterprises are forced to adapt to rapidly changing conditions. Therefore, the management of organizations faces questions regarding changes in the business processes of the enterprise, which will allow them to increase competitiveness, investment attractiveness, etc. The article discusses various definitions of a business process, provides its author’s definition in relation to agricultural enterprises and the specifics of their functioning in modern economic realities. An updated classification of business processes of agricultural enterprises is presented according to the criterion of the level of impact on the process of value-added formation. The essential content of the adaptation process is considered and the use of business process regulations is justified to determine their ideal state. It is proved that the basis of reengineering of agricultural enterprises should be carried out on the basis of various innovations, their classification is given in the context of the relationship with the digitalization of business processes in agriculture and the processing industry.
