Ioann's redaction of Kiev-Pechersk patericon: problems of interpretation

The article considers the hypothetical existence of Ioann's redaction of Kiev-Pechersk Patericon, as it was put forward by A. A. Shakhmatov. Special attention is given to the necessity of detailed study of earlier seventeenth-century copies that have not been analyzed yet. These copies may shed light on unclear points in the literary history of the Patericon.
