The mortgage potential of financing the housing market

The authors emphasise that the capacity of the bank system to carry out mortgage housing credit fnancing is an important factor of the social and economic development of a region. There is no consistent approach to assessing the potential of housing credit fnancing in Russia yet, so it is hard to assess the capacity of the banking system to meet the demand of population for mortgage housing credit.
