The Islamist factor in Iranian-Egyptian relations: the example of the «Muslim brotherhood»

Against the backdrop of the worsening Palestinian-Israeli conflict, processes are taking place to normalize relations between regional states, including establishing a dialogue between Egypt and Iran, which is especially interesting in the context of the developed ties between Tehran and the Muslim Brotherhood movement. A new approach in relations between Iran and the Arab world plays there an important role, when issues of ideology give way to a pragmatic discussion of problems. The article is an analysis of relations between Iran and Egypt at the present stage, including the role of the Islamist factor.
