This article concerns the question of two liturgical traditions of the Spanish- Mozarabic Rite. Tese questions come to the forefront in scholarly literature on this subject in the second half of the 20th century as a result of the publication in the 20th century of new source materials for the history of the rite. Tis question deals with the analysis of Mozarabic liturgical manuscripts and whether the manuscripts that originate in the church of the Holy Martyrs Justa and Rufina in Toledo are independent. Te author describes the theory of Jordi Pinell, who devoted a number of his publications to this topic, and also considers the views of his opponents. Te author especially focuses on the views of Jose Janini, whose views differed sharply from Pinell’s theory. Te author then undertakes an independent analysis of a number of Mozarabic liturgical manuscripts and comes to his own conclusions, which are compared to the views expressed in the literature. Te author then offers generalizations and preliminary conclusions on this topic.
