The article is dedicated to the problem of Spanish chivalric romance’s genre limits, that haven’t been determined in science yet. The author observes the main trends of this expansion: due to inclusion of the texts considered to be translated and those works which genre characters cannot be unambiguously determined. Essential material is texts such as “The History of the Noble Knights Oliveros of Castile and Arthur Algarvskom” ( La Historia de los nobles cavalleros Oliveros de Castilla y Artús de Algarve ), “History of Henry, son of Oliva” ( Historia de Enrique, fi de Oliva ) and “Siphar Knight” ( El Libro del caballero Zifar ). During analysis and comparision with French original sources the author highlight a lot of genre features of Spanish courtly romance: an increased interest in the “magical” adventures; extended descriptions of battle scenes; appearance moralizing intentions; change the general tonality of the text in the direction of greater seriousness; special attention to the location of adventures in the general scheme of the plot of the novel.
