Applications of fumarate-containing solutions mafusol and polyoxyfumarine were analyzed as an anti-hypoxic means in surgery. The main foundations about origin and development of hypoxia and some treatment strategies of hypoxia at surgical patients are considered. Therapeutic effects of fumarate-containing solutions have been shown at such pathologies as peritonitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, intestinal obstruction, oncological diseases, etc. The outlooks for usage of fumarate-containing solutions for treatment of hypoxia in organs and systems by means of regional endovascular introduction of these solutions have been demonstrated.
