The use of audiovisual means in foreign language lessons

The paper explores the features of using audiovisual means of teaching foreign languages at the secondary school level. The paper focuses on the theoretical foundations of teaching listening in foreign language lessons using audiovisual means, the psychological and pedagogical characteristics of secondary school students, and the didactic potential of using audiovisual means in foreign language lessons. Methodological recommendations on the use of authentic audio and video materials are given, and a set of exercises for teaching listening in foreign language lessons using audiovisual means is developed.
