Recommendations for the value-based approach application to supply chain management in the pulp and paper industry

The article provides recommendations for necessary applications of the value-based approach to supply chain management in the pulp and paper industry (PPI). It justifies goals of the strategic development of the Russian pulp and paper industry (PPI), which consists in the technological equipment modernization of existing enterprises and improving the competitiveness of the enterprises of the pulp and paper through the innovative management technologies implementation. It presents detailed analysis of the performance of the pulp and paper organizations and levels of production of the main pulp and paper products in Russia for 2010-2015 period. It shows innovation results influence depending on the kind of economic activity of the “pulp and paper production, publishing and printing activities”. In the framework of value-based approach application to supply chain management at the pulp and paper enterprises, the author proposes to use the indicator of profitability of the invested capital and recommends tools to supply chain management.
