One of the most important trends of our time is digitalization, the influence of which permeates all spheres. Of great importance is the integration of technical and humanitarian knowledge. 3D-reconstruction and augmented reality technologies are used in modern historical research practice. Virtual reconstruction becomes especially relevant when a cultural heritage site has been lost in whole or in part (due to time, natural disasters, wars) and its restoration is not possible due to high costs, subsequent development. To achieve success in a detailed reconstruction of lost or incompletely preserved architectural monuments, objects of art, a computer technology specialist should perform their 3D reconstruction according to surviving descriptions, images, drawings, plans in close cooperation with historians, architects, archaeologists. Digital technologies helping to give an idea of the appearance of the lost monument and its interiors. The computer screen juxtaposes the modern architectural environment with the vanished objects of the historic building, giving a glimpse of what the space looked like in the past. Historical reconstructions with the involvement of innovative technologies contribute to the popularization of history and architecture, solving the problem of preserving cultural heritage.
