Use of foresight technologies in design and implementation of master's programs in the foreign language education field

Statement of the problem. The article deals with the possibility of modernizing master' s programs in the field of foreign language education through the use of foresight technologies based on the systematization of expert knowledge and designed not only to form strategic thinking, but also to activate cognitive activity of teachers and students. The need to develop new meta-subject technologies is caused by a contradiction between recognition of the prevalence of interactive teaching methods over traditional ones and insufficient development of an algorithm for their use in practice. The master' s programs implemented at the department of foreign languages of the KSPU named after V.P Astafiev, namely: “Modern linguistic education” (full-time education) and “Innovative technologies in foreign language education” (part-time education), major 44.04.01 “Pedagogical education” - are taken as an example. The purpose of the articleis to present the authors' recommendations on the introduction of foresight technologies in the process of designing and implementing master' s programs in the field of foreign language education, that take into account the requirements of new Federal State Educational Standards and are aimed at the formation of universal and professional students' competencies. The methodology consists of analysis of existing master' s programs in the field of foreign language education; study of the results of interdisciplinary research of Russian and foreign scientists on the use of subject-language foresight technologies; analysis and generalization of the authors' experience in designing and implementing master' s programs in the field of foreign language education. Results. Authors' recommendations on the introduction of foresight technologies in master' s programs in the field of foreign language education, approved in practice in the context of higher education have been developed. Conclusion. Analyzing the results of approved recommendations, the authors come to the conclusion that use of the foresight technologies in the design and implementation of master' s programs in the field of foreign language education contributes to the formation of students' strategic thinking and activation of their cognitive activity. The author' s recommendations can be applied in the course of masters` training, major 44.04.01 Pedagogical education (full-time and part-time forms).
