The use of hydrogels in crop production

Field experiments to assess the moisture content and yield of soybean and winter wheat crops were carried out in the conditions of the zone of unstable moisture of the Western Caucasus in the period from 2016 to 2018. Hydrogel was introduced into the soil, simultaneously with soybean sowing, to a depth of 7-9 cm, at a dose of 400 kg / ha and soybean productivity was compared on different variants of experiments. In subsequent years, in areas where there was soy, the effect of the aftereffect of laying polymer hydrogel in the soil on the vegetation process and the yield of winter wheat was evaluated. It was revealed that the introduction of polymer hydrogel into the soil in the first year of field experiments contributed to the growth of soybean yield by 8.7%. In subsequent years, the increase in soybean yield was not so significant. The assessment of the aftereffect of polymer hydrogel influence on the yield and quality of winter wheat grain showed that in the areas with polymer hydrogel introduced into the soil, the average yield for 2 years was 21,7 % higher than in the control.
