During long-term storage of aviation fuels, the quality of the stored product deteriorates through oxidation, tarring and evaporation of the fuel. In addition, there is a danger of fire, explosion of the tank due to the content of oxygen in the above-fuel space, which, when light fractions of stored aviation fuel evaporate, leads to the formation of a vapor-air combustible mixture. The article highlights a way to solve these problems by filling the air space of the tank with an inert gas under pressure, which has not previously been used in the storage of aviation fuels. The method of nitrogen regeneration used in the storage of aviation fuel was also justified. This article may be useful for specialists in the field of aviation fuel supply.
