Using Shannon information entropy for parametrization of the rough surface of mechanical engineering parts

Using a raster image of a rough surface, the characteristics of the microroughness features of the controlled surface are calculated. The proposed characteristics are calculated on the basis of the Shannon entropy, correlation (Renyi), conditional and sample entropies. The calculation of four characteristics of the microrelief of unworn and worn surfaces of the headlight lens of the car “Kalina” was carried out. The limits of applicability of the proposed parameters for controlling changes in the rough surface are shown. The ways of developing the proposed parameters for rough surfaces operating under various conditions are indicated.
