The use of limestone deposits of the Republic of Buryatia in building materials

The article presents data on the composition of limestone deposits of the Republic of Buryatia, their features and use. According to their physical and mechanical properties and chemical composition, limestones are suitable for the production of various materials, including construction lime, binders, mortars and concretes, and the production of building products and structures. Pure fine-crystalline and coarse-crystalline limestones can also be used for the production of carbide, besides they are suitable for use in pulp and paper production, the metallurgical industry as a flux, etc. More than 30 deposits and limestone manifestations have been identified on the territory of the Republic of Buryatia, including Tatarsky Klyuch, Narynskoye, Babkinskoye, Barun-Toreyskoye, Udinskoye, Yelovskoye, etc. The most famous of them and the most interesting is the Bilyutin limestone deposit, which is located in the Zaigraevsky district.
