The article deals with the simultaneous use of elements of several educational paradigms while teaching the professional communication in a foreign language in a higher school. The importance of the teaching of professional communication in the higher school as one of the conditions of qualitative training of future specialists is stressed. The authors consider the mutually supportive value of the elements of cognitive, competence and personality-oriented educational paradigms for the effective teaching of the professional communication in the higher school.
