For a long time, the spatial variation of soil properties was considered as an annoying obstacle in the survey of land during the monitoring observations of individual soil properties. Only in the second half of the 20th century the accumulation of information about the cases of spatial heterogeneity of individual soil properties led to the realization that the systematization of individual information and the creation of a theory of soil heterogeneity is necessary. On the basis of our own scientific research, literary sources, the state and need to build accurate farming systems based on the flow methodology of the soil cover structure are theoretically substantiated and experimentally shown. Rational management of the economy, the use of natural and effective soil fertility is impossible without the use of soil maps and agronomic cartograms. The soil map is an image of the soil landscaspe of the territory. It gives a visual representation of the quality and location of the soil. For the practical use of soil research materials it is advisable to combine the soils highlighted on the map into groups according to the similarity of properties that determine their agro-production qualities and common usage patterns. When soil is grouped into groups of lands, the agronomic uniformity and compatibility of the soil landscape structure is obligatory. The grouping of soils and lands ends with the compilation of cartograms of the agro-industrial grouping of soils and cartograms of groups of lands. The soil map and the cartogram of groups of lands make it possible to identify areas that require, when using them, special attention to the observance of nature conservation measures that ensure the preservation of the soil and the ecological well-being of the landscape as a whole.
