In modern conditions of globalization and informatization of society, wide opportunities are opening up for educational activities of both the teacher and the student. This article focuses on the significance of the use of the film in history lessons in high school. For a specific example of the lesson, the main nuances of using a fragment of a documentary were revealed and the functions of this method were highlighted.
