This work is devoted to the analysis of the possibilities of the focus group method (focused interview) in the sociological and pedagogical study, with the example of clarifying the results of the questionnaire on the interaction of the Russian movement of schoolchildren and a school. The questioning was conducted on the basis of a questionnaire developed among senior counselors, teachers and students of Ulyanovsk, the Ulyanovsk region and a number of other regions. The results of the questionnaire are compared with the result of the focus group conducted with the senior leaders of Ulyanovsk and the region. In addition, a focus group was conducted on-line among students (an alternative study) on the issues of cooperation with a school within the framework of the RMS.
