Using reflections from a padding surface for forming arbitrary polarization in phased antenna arrays with controlled polarization under high directionality of radiation

This article presents a solution to the problem of synthesis of a phased antenna array with controlled polarization when placed above a plane, ideally conducting padding surface for gain maximization. An analysis of numerical results from the phased antenna array synthesis under the constraints on radiation polarization in the direction of the main lobe and the presence of deep s in the radiation pattern is presented.
