Using the results of operational investigative measures at the initial stage of crime investigation

The process of detection and investigation of counterfeiting always takes places in information gap, has its own challenges related to documenting criminal activities and collecting evidence. In this connection, a well-coordinated and clear organization of the work of law enforcement officers at the initial stage has a significant impact on the detection and investigation of counterfeiting. In particular, great importance is attached to the primary and criminal significant information obtained during operational search activities. Obtaining crimi-nal important information in the testing of report of a crime direct impacts on inspection date and on the decision taken on it, and also allows you to put forward initial versions and plan the work on them. The article considers examples of crimes under Article 186 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the identification and detection of which became possible due to the complex validation of operational and tactical activities. In fact, the timely and effective performing operational activities led to the detection of these crimes. Based on the proposed examples and on the facts of the distribution of counterfeit currency the analysis of operational search activities carried out by the operational units of the economic security and anticorruption activities at the stage of crime investigation was carried out. The conducted study allows to determine the main advantages of such operational investigative measures as “questioning”, “inquiry procedure”, “surveillance”, “telephone tapping”, “lifting of the information from technical communication channels”. Taking into account the specifics of the crime under consideration, the volume and structure of criminal significant information that can be obtained through the above-mentioned operational investigative measures has been determined. In addition, such operational investigative measures as “telephone tapping” and " lifting of the information from technical communication channels", the production of which is essential for the disclosure process of counterfeiting, are considered in more detail at the initial stage. The results of the operational search measures carried out as part of the verification of the crime report help to establish the initial information about the crime, determine the method of its commission and form the basis of evidence indicating the involvement of specific persons.
