The Use of Modern Technologies to Prevent Road Accidents (Part 1)

The purpose of this article is to systematize and analyze existing technical solutions aimed at improving road safety, as well as to assess the prospects for their further development and integration. However, examining modern technologies in the context of road accident prevention is impossible without legislative justification. Since prevention encompasses four components: 1) legislative measures; 2) technical solutions; 3) promotion; and 4) monitoring, it was decided to examine all components in stages, with a particular focus on modern technologies. The first part of the article examines legislative regulations governing road traffic. It is concluded that issues related to the prevention, detection, and suppression of violations of road safety legislation should currently be considered a priority for the Russian Federation. An examination of legislative measures, which are a key element of prevention, will help us further justify the use of technical solutions for accident prevention and avoidance, which will be discussed in detail in the second part of our article.
