Use of parametric simulation tools to optimize steel frames

Parametric modeling tools have not yet found wide application in building design processes, therefore, this article discusses the possibility of introducing parametric modeling tools together with tools for solving optimization problems using evolutionary algorithms using the example of the link between the Grasshopper 3D visual editor and the SAP2000 computer-aided design system. The result of the study is a workable algorithm, with the help of which it is possible to preliminarily find the most optimal design scheme for the metal frame of the building.
